Anita Landecker is Executive Director of ExED, a nonprofit organization that develops and manages charter public charter schools in inner city neighborhoods in Southern California. Currently, ExED provides business management services to thirty-six independent charter schools, through its offices in Los Angeles and San Diego. ExED is also working with ten different community organizations and educators to develop new charter schools and facilities. Through a $71 million dollar allocation of New Markets Tax Credits, ExED provides below market loans to charter schools to acquire and construct new facilities.
Prior to joining ExED in 1999, Anita Landecker was Regional Vice President for the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), the largest community development organization in the nation. During her 12 years at LISC, Ms. Landecker was also the Managing Director of the California Equity Fund (CEF), a LISC subsidiary, which syndicated the benefits of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit. While at LISC and CEF, Ms. Landecker raised over $750 million for investment in affordable housing in inner city neighborhoods to produce over 10,000 units of housing, all developed by nonprofit community organizations.
Ms. Landecker received her Masters Degree in City Planning from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Bachelors degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
