Benjamin Torres of CDTech says, “We understand that, according to USC’s projections, 12,600 jobs may be created by this project, but there is no assurance in the current plans that those jobs will benefit the local community. South LA continues to face unemployment figures in the double digits.  UNIDAD would like to see stronger assurances that local unemployment will be improved through the USC plan.  Local small businesses also have no displacement protection or benefits in the current draft.”
